The days of exclusively using rattan furniture outside the home are well and truly over and this living room is all the proof you need! Adding such a delightfully bohemian vibe, not to mention a little 70s twist, the rattan chairs here are the perfect companion for smooth floors and fluffy rugs, while adding some contrast to the more standard sofas. Even the light fixture looks as though it's been transported in from the past! Groovy baby.
A room has a vertical dimension as well as a horizontal one. If your living room has a high ceiling, make the most of the extra space by decorating it in a manner that draws the eye upward. Floor-to-ceiling drapes are a stylish way to accomplish this goal.
Few people seem to realise that a large space can be cleverly carved up and segmented with creative use of color. We've all been so busy thinking that furniture is the only way to divide and conquer a gargantuan area but in reality, some contrasting slices of wall hues will work just as well and it's not just paint or wallpaper that can be employed for the task.
Get as much off the floor as possible. Decorative shelving can be installed and outfitted with attractive storage options to keep school projects out of the living room corner, or sewing and craft supplies corralled.
